One of the youngest DJs ever to crack the top 10 in a coveted list of the world’s best mix-masters says fans would be ‘mad’ to miss out on Creamfields.
Southampton-born Gareth Emery is playing at the Cream Arena at the Daresbury dance spectacular on Saturday, August 27.
Emery, 30, was voted number seven in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll in 2010, making him the UK’s highest ranked DJ and one of the youngest ever to crack the top 10.
Asked what he was looking forward to most at this year’s August Bank Holiday event, Manchester-based Emery said: “The amazing crowd and the best festival the North has to offer.
“Oh, and the short drive home!”
There may be some surprises up his sleeve this year too.
He said: “I did about 150 gigs last year and not a single one was exactly the same, so I’m pretty sure it will be different.
“But seriously, I always try to bring something a bit special for the festivals.
“I’ve already got a load of nice little bootlegs and party tracks that I think are going to work well.”
He said: “For anyone who’s undecided on going to Creamfields I’d say ‘are you mad?’
“It sold out last year so I’d decide quickly!”
Emery lived in Southampton until the age of 26 and so has never been to Creamfields before, but this year hopes to take in some of the other acts.
He said: “On the Sunday I’d like to see the Swedes, Laidback Luke and Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano the most.”
Hospitality camping tickets for this year’s festival have sold out.
