Richard Bean’s comedy The Heretic to be staged by Library Theatre at The Lowry

THE regional premiere of The Heretic, Richard Bean’s hilarious comedy about a climate change scientist who goes public with her reservations about the accepted science of global warming, opens the Library Theatre’s new season at The Lowry in Salford Quays.

Library artistic director Chris Honer said: “Global warming is one of the issues of our time, and The Heretic asks key questions about the world we live in and does so compellingly, and in a very entertaining and funny style.”

The Heretic shared the Evening Standard Award for Best New Play in 2011 with Richard Bean’s equally successful but very different One Man, Two Guvnors.

Heading the cast is Cate Hamer, who was last seen at the Library in Chris Honer’s acclaimed adaptation of Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia in autumn 2010.

The Heretic can be seen from September 27 to October 13. Please note there is strong language in the play. Call 0843 208 6010 or visit www.thelowry.com.
