Ysgol Maes Garmon, Mold, GCSE results

YSGOL Maes Garmon, Mold, has gained its best ever set of GCSE results.

Ninety-eight percent of pupils gained at least five GCSEs, with almost a third of pupils achieving at least nine A*-C grades.

Headteacher Huw Alun Roberts said: "These excellent results are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of pupils and staff.

"In particular, it shows the commitment to continuous improvement, and a coaching structure which seeks to support and encourage high performance.

"We look forward to seeing the majority of these pupils returning to continue their education through the medium of Welsh at Ysgol Maes Garmon, where successes at AS, A-level and vocational courses are outstanding."

Among the high achievers were Elen Shiel with nine A*s, three As and a B, Bethan Nock with eight A*s, four As and a B and Gareth Parry with six A*s, six As and a B.
