SEARCH and Rescue teams searching for missing runners in the Wales 1,000 race in Snowdonia, have “stepped down” after all missing participants have been accounted for and according to North Wales Police, remain “safe and well”.

Search and rescue teams worked throughout Saturday to locate the several people who had got into difficulties during the race, which became dangerous due to the atrocious weather conditions.

Teams assisting in the search included the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, North East Wales Search and Rescue Team, RAF helicopter and ground troops, and search dogs.
