Decision on turbines at Broughton Tesco store deferred

A PLANNING application for wind turbines outside Broughton’s Tesco store has been deferred in the hope developers can suggest a less prominent location.

The application for two micro wind turbines on the car park of the store was strongly objected to by Broughton Community Council, which claimed the turbines would be visually intrusive and out of keeping with the setting.

Councillors were recommended to approve the plans but voted to defer the decision so the applicants could come up with an alternative location.

The turbines would be in place for 15 years.
