An Alun School Sixth former from Mold has won a national photography competition

A SIXTH form student from The Alun School, Mold, has won a national photography competition.

Francesca Cartwright, 18, entered her photo into a competition organised by Sight Savers International, called Body Language.

Her photo was selected as the regional winner for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, in the 17-18 year -old category.

Francesca’s photo is now on display in the Oxo Art Gallery on the South Bank, London.

“I’ve been interested in photography for two years,” said Francesca.

“I wasn’t expecting to get a place in the competition, so when I found out I’d won, I was ecstatic.”
