The Alun School Chess Club have won joint first place in the Cheshire and North Wales Chess Championships
THE Alun School’s chess team are celebrating after winning joint first place at the Cheshire and North Wales Chess Championships.
The talented team drew with students from The King's School in Chester. Maths teacher, Dr Yassi, who runs the chess club, said: “We are delighted by the level of enthusiasm and commitment shown by all members of the team during the past 12 months.
“Last year the Alun School finished runners up to the King’s School in the same competition, so we are delighted to finish equal first this year.”
