STAFF and students at Yale College are celebrating their Estyn inspection report, which has officially graded them good or outstanding in all areas inspected, for support to learners and for their leadership and management.
Commended for eight areas of outstanding practice, the college boasts the highest possible scores for the quality of its leadership and management, meeting the needs and interests of learners and the wider community; excellence in caring, guiding and supporting students and effective use of resources.
The October 2009 inspection indicated that outstanding curriculum areas are Health, Public Services and Care, Hair and Beauty, Performing Arts and Art and Design.
In areas of Science and Maths, Computing, Business Management and Law and Independent Living Skills, the college was deemed to be good with no important shortcomings.
In summary, the whole of the college’s provision across the eight learning areas inspected was deemed to be good or good with outstanding features.
Grades for teaching and learning were based on visits to more than 170 classes – making this one of the most extensive inspections of further education colleges in Wales.
