Cymru Alliance – Paul Dodd set for new role at Buckley Town

BUCKLEY Town have made Paul Dodd their new head of youth development.

The former Holywell Town and Airbus UK Broughton midfielder takes up the position having been number two to Simon Sedgwick.

Sedgwick vacated the manager’s hotseat at the end of last season and has been replaced by ex-Mynydd Isa boss Gareth Thomas, who is bringing his own coaching team with him to Globe Way.

As well as jointly managing Buckley’s reserve and youth teams with Russell Moore, a remit of development of youth in line with the FAW’s domestic licensing criteria has been set for Dodd.

Buckley’s committee, meanwhile, have announced they have made president Jeff Bradshaw, vice-chairman Allan Brown and general secretary Mike Williams life members.

Chairman Stewart Roberts said: “All three gentlemen have given the football club massive amounts of commitment and time.

“In fact, more than 100 years club service between them shows just how much they have contributed. Without them Buckley Town Football Club and especially our home at Globe Way would not be what it is today.

“There are numerous others who have contributed fantastically over the years and continue to do so, and if current members remain as long as Allan, Jeff and Mike have then we will continue to prosper.”
