Holywell Ramblers Club prepares for ascent of Snowdon

HOLYWELL Rambling Club members have been limbering up for a climb up the highest mountain in Wales.

They took advantage of last weekend’s fine weather to reach the summit of Cadir Idris.

The Snowdon walk has been organised for Saturday, July 4.

It is to celebrate the opening of the new summit café, the completion of which was delayed by almost a year due to bad weather.

Ramblers will be taking the same path trodden by Welsh Assembly First Minister Rhodri Morgan AM when he performed the opening ceremony on Friday.

The walk starts from Pen y Pass and takes about two-and-a-half hours. The party will then follow the path down to Llanberis.

Everyone is welcome to join and can use it as a sponsored event.
