MIKE Whitby was born in Liverpool and moved to Coedpoeth 25 years ago. He was state educated and is ‘an ordinary family man’. Mike believes youngsters need more sporting activities to keep them healthy and happy. He also believes new housing developments should be for local people. Mike says he is an avid reader and also enjoys swimming and watching football and rugby.He was an amateur footballer and afterwards coached football skills to nine-16-year-olds in Coedpoeth for 12 years.Mike works as an independent marketing consultant and prides himself on his business acumen. He has also been an engineering construction worker, a lorry driver and manager and company director.“I have a great deal of work experience, along with an abundance of common sense,” he said. For the past three years Mike has been a community councillor in Coedpoeth.
