Women2Day - Lifestyle: DoubleTree by Hilton Chester promoting the city as a top UK business and leisure destination

DoubleTree by Hilton Chester

DOUBLETREE by Hilton Chester promoted our city as a top UK destination for business and leisure during a familiarisation trip for executives from leading South West businesses.

The luxury hotel joined efforts with Britain’s local airline Air Southwest to provide an opportunity for a group of the airline’s most valued business customers from Bristol to enjoy a day trip to Chester.  Businesses that made the trip included representatives from: BP Gas; Agresso; Keir Weston and Cyril Sweett.

Clare Bebb, sales manager for Doubletree by Hilton Chester, said: "We have a commitment to Chester’s tourism and business community to promote the city as a top destination.

"As part of the community it’s important to champion the city and encourage people to visit. More and more people are holidaying in the UK so it’s crucial that Chester is up there in the best places to visit, because in our opinion it is."

The Doubletree by Hilton Chester welcomed the guests to the city with a champagne reception. The group then enjoyed a day in the city centre and a trip on Chester’s Heritage tour atop the well-known bus accompanied by management staff from The Doubletree.

Sandra Hale from Adecco said: "The hotel is beautiful and Chester was fabulous.

"I would recommend others to take the trip to Chester and will definitely return to Doubletree next time I’m in the area."

Angela Purkiss from BP Gas said: "The flight here was great, punctual, smooth and under an hour!

"We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our day in Chester city centre and at the Doubletree.

"There’s a real wow factor when you first enter the reception, the Doubletree has great presentation, excellent food and friendly service – we’re very impressed."

After a day exploring the sights and delights of Chester the group returned to the hotel for more champagne and a spectacular afternoon tea in the Chocolate Lounge before their return flight from Manchester to Bristol.

The trip was a great success showcasing Chester as a key destination to visit for people from all over the UK.

Clare Bebb said: "It has been a great day out in Chester and even ‘us locals’ thoroughly enjoyed the Chester Heritage tour.

"We’ve received great compliments about the hotel and are pleased that everybody enjoyed the day."

Air Southwest offers up to two flights a day from Manchester Airport - the biggest airport in the North West, - to Newquay, Plymouth and Bristol, with all-in fares from £39 each way including taxes, charges and baggage.

Debra Dupret, Area Sales Manager for Air Southwest said: "Air Southwest provides fast, reliable and comfortable connections between the South West and North West, saving our customers both time and money compared to the train.  We were delighted to team up with the Doubletree by Hilton Chester to show some of our Bristol customers the delights that Chester has to offer within such easy reach of Manchester and hope that it will encourage more of them to enjoy trips to the city for both business and leisure."

The hotel is located on Warrington Road, Hoole, Chester CH2 3PD. For further information, telephone Doubletree by Hilton, Chester on 01244 408 800 or visit www.hilton.co.uk/chester.
