Club boxers in the ring to help bring in more cash

A CHALLENGE match between a select team of 15 North Wales boxers and a select English team is set to further boost the Peter McFerran Appeal.

The fight night, organised by Jimsul’s Alan Sullivan and Shotton Amateur Boxing Club’s Shane Thomas, will be at Connah’s Quay Civic Hall on Friday, October 31.

It will be a big night for Flintshire boxer Tom Doran as it will be his last amateur fight before he turns pro.

Proceeds will be split between the Peter McFerran Appeal and the boxing club.

Meals will be available on the night and a bar will be open, but meals can be bought separately.

Sponsors for the programme are also being sought.

Tickets, at £10, will be on sale from Monday, October 6, with doors open on the night at 7.30pmwith the first bout at 8.30pm.
