Saltney mayor Klaus Armstrong Braun “I’m staying put”

MAYOR of Saltney Cllr Klaus Armstrong Braun says he will stay in office despite losing a vote of confidence last week.

Councillors on Saltney Town Council voted by nine votes to two against the mayor last week.

The council is meeting tonight (Wednesday) for the first time since passing the no confidence motion.

Some members say they accept that they cannot sack Cllr Armstrong-Braun, who said: “I'm still mayor - I'm staying there.”

The motion against the mayor was put forward by fellow town councillor William Crawford, calling on Cllr Armstrong-Braun to resign and accusing him of an “inability to exercise proper control and guidance in the office of town mayor.”

Despite passing the motion, the mayor stayed in post and adjourned the rest of the council business until this week.
