A DECISION into a planning application for a £15m waste recovery and recycling centre in Deeside has been put on hold.
Councillors requested further consultation on the project earmarked for the Corus Colors site at a meeting of the Planning Committee on Wednesday.
Orchid Environmental Ltd are behind plans for the state-of-the-art centre, which would be capable of processing 160,000 tonnes of domestic and commercial waste a year. Of this, 64,000 tonnes of biodegradable waste will be converted into fuel pellets to fire kilns or create fuel for power stations.
Glass, stones and grit among the refuse would be used for road aggregate while plastics and metals would be sold on for further processing.
