Man, 25, victim of “vicious assault” in Flint

POLICE are appealing for information after a 25-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Flint.

The attack happened at around 8.10pm on Sunday in Trelawny Avenue.

The victim, who has not been named, suffered serious injuries after being struck across the face. The assault, which officers say appears to have been entirely unprovoked, is being investigated by officers at Flint police station.

They want to speak to anyone who saw a group of youths in the area at the time or who witnessed a disturbance.

Officers are aware the victim was also asked for the time by two females prior to the incident and say it is crucial these people come forward as they may have valuable information regarding the offence.

Flintshire North district Inspector Kevin Steele said: “This is an extremely vicious assault that is totally unacceptable in any town. The arrest of those responsible is a priority. Violent crime levels are reducing and we are detecting more offences than previous years so I am confident that with the assistance of the public we can identify and arrest those responsible.”

Members of the public with information should contact officers at Flint Police station on 0845 6071001 (Welsh language line) or 0845 6071002 (English language line) or information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers 0800555111 or crimestopper-uk.org.
