Connah’s Quay sex offender jailed

A MAN who was placed on the sex offender register for 10 years had lived at two addresses at Bagillt in North Wales and in Chester – but failed to register them with the police.

Neil Andrew Carr, 28, had also failed to complete an annual registration with North Wales Police while living at Connah's Quay.

At Mold Crown Court yesterday Carr was jailed for 39 weeks and a crown court judge said he was concerned about his attitude towards the need to register.

Carr, now of Merllyn Avenue in Connah's Quay, admitted he failed to register an address in Bagillt Road, Bagillt, between January and June last year, explained prosecuting Meirion Lewis-Jones.

He also admitted failing to register an address in Chester between December last year and June 10 this year.

Carr, who also admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance, received 13 weeks from a previous suspended sentence for disqualified driving, and a consecutive 26 week sentence for failing to register as a sex offender.

Judge Merfyn Hughes QC said the history of the case went back to 2002 when Carr was convicted of indecently assaulting a girl aged nine.
