IF something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!
That is the message being rolled out to Flintshire residents today, warning them not to reply to claims they have won money.
A spokesperson from Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch, said: “If you receive a letter saying you have won lots of money, or that you have been put into a ‘final draw' and need to send them your personal details including bank account numbers, to validate the claim, I urge you to throw it straight into the bin, and do not reply.
“These are rogue companies who want your details and once they have your bank account and personal details they can try and access your savings from your bank.
“Never give personal details to anyone you do not know - over the phone, by letter or on the internet.
“Ask yourself, if you have won one of these prizes why don't they just send you the cheque?
“They have your name and possibly your home address to start off with, so why do they need any further information?
“If it is too good to be true it probably is!”
