Flint care worker honoured at Wales Care Awards

A GRANDMOTHER was praised by judges at a national awards ceremony for carers for her dedication to training and mentoring colleagues.

Mandy Bevan, who has worked at Rhiwlas Care Home in Flint for 14 years, received a bronze award in the Training and Workforce Development category at the Wales Care Awards in Cardiff on Friday.

The 46-year-old mum-of-three gives up her spare time to train other carers at Rhiwlas and neighbouring Bodhyfryd home.

North Wales AM Mark Isherwood, who was at the ceremony, said he was delighted for Mandy and two winners fromWrexham.

He said: “It was a great evening. Each was a worthy victor and I congratulate them all.”
