Flint workers face axe from Flintshire County Council

FOUR council workers based in Flint have been told they might not have jobs to come to back to after Christmas.

The catering roles at County Offices, formerly Delyn House, have been made redundant by Flintshire County Council.

A spokesman said: “The council has undertaken a review of support services at its offices in Flint.

“One outcome of this review has been to cease the staff tea and coffee service from January 2010.

“Four part-time jobs have been deleted from the council’s structure as a result of this change.

“Full consultation has taken place with the staff affected and their trade union representatives, and every effort is being made to find the four people alternative employment within the council.

“If suitable alternatives cannot be found then the staff will retire or take redundancy depending on their personal circumstances.”
