BRITISH Waterways is continuing its investment programme in the region’s canals by installing new lock gates at a major junction that links the waterways of England and Wales.
Four sets of gates are being installed at Frankton Lock Flight, the busy junction linking the Montgomery and Llangollen canals.
Installation begins on Monday.
Completion is scheduled by mid-March ahead of the boating and visitor season.
Frankton is an important hub for boats heading north west toward the newly crowned World Heritage Site of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, or south to the Montgomery Canal.
