Flintshire councillors given tour of Dee-Tex Project in Saltney
A SOCIAL enterprise in Saltney played host to the Flintshire County Council leader.
Representatives of the Dee-Tex Project on the Brymau 4 Estate gave Cllr Arnold Woolley and Treuddyn councillor Carolyn Thomas a tour of their premises last Thursday.
Dee-Tex collects unwanted clothing and household textiles from schools, nurseries and community groups in Flintshire, Wrexham and Chester, paying an agreed rate per kilo.
The items are then recycled and sold on at stores in Shotton, Wrexham and Rhyl, with the proceeds donated to good causes.
Dee-Tex recently created 20 jobs after a grant from the Department for Work and Pensions.
