Lilywhites date for giant-killers

CASTELL Alun Colts’ reward for causing one of the shocks of the Welsh Cup first round is a daunting second-round trip to big-spending Rhyl.

Castell Alun, who thanks to Craig Somerville’s late winner knocked-out the Cymru Alliance’s Llandyrnog on Saturday, will make their way to Belle Vue to face the Welsh Premier League leaders, who in the summer added former Wrexham stars Neil Roberts, Danny Williams, Gareth Owen, Jamie Reed and Josh Johnson to their expensively-assembled squad.

The Welsh Alliance’s Halkyn United have been drawn away to the top-flight’s NEWI Cefn Druids.

There will be an all-Cymru Alliance clash between Flint Town United and Mold Alexandra at Cae Y Castell while Buckley Town, league rivals to Mold and Flint, will travel to the Welsh National League Premier Division’s Brickfield Rangers.

The Welsh Alliance’s Rhydymwyn have been handed a winnable game at Cymru Alliance strugglers Gresford Athletic.
