INCREASING crowds at Flintshire Freeze games are playing a major part in the team’s promotion push – thanks in part to recent voucher offers in the Chronicle.
Following the 2-1 win over league leaders Newcastle Vipers last week, coach Mark Hobson has praised the ardent support for playing their part in Freeze’s run of good form.
He said: “We had about 400 fans there on Sunday and it seems to be getting better every week.
“They are like an extra man on the ice and the guys really notice it.
“When we go back into the changing room, there’s always conversations about how loud the crowd were. We get a lift from them egging us on, it really gets the players up for it.”
Coach Hobson also called for the fans to show their support on the road and give the players a boost on their travels.
“We want to try and get people travelling to away games,” he added.
“We are looking at seeing what interest there is and then possibly having another coach for supporters.
“We want to create more of an atmosphere when we are travel away, it will be like having an extra man.”
