A PRODUCTION team is searching for dance groups in Halton to audition for this year’s pantomime performance of Cinderella.
Husband and wife duo Pele Productions, the newly appointed casting company, are looking for dance groups including junior and senior dancers, to audition.
The pantomime starts on Friday, December 9, and runs until Sunday, January 8, 2012 with school performances being held during the first and last week.
The change of audition style this year allows people to audition as a group, in the hope that even more talented dancers will apply.
Auditions are to be held at The Brindley on Sunday, June 19.
Juniors must be of a maximum height of 4ft 10ins and seniors must be at a minimum height of 5ft 3ins.
In preparation for the audition, dance schools should put together two routines – one must include ballet and last no longer than two minutes.
The backing music should be selected by the dance school beforehand and brought on a CD to the audition.
Cllr Phil Harris (arts) said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a professional production on your doorstep.”
Last year’s pantomime saw a 5% increase in ticket sales and with the introduction of an early bird ticket offer, star names performing and a magnificent set and costumes, Halton Borough Council is hoping to see the theatre packed out this winter.
The early bird offer is now available for all Cinderella tickets booked before Sunday, July 31.
