Three generations of the same Runcorn family complete Halton Haven Hospice Santa dash

IT WAS a real family affair when three generations took on the Santa Dash.

Ex-paratrooper Alan Brown, 66, used to run for his regiment – 3 Para – and served in Northern Ireland.

He was joined by daughter Nicky Webster, who celebrates her 34th birthday on New Year’s Eve, and grandson Lewis McDonald, 13, – who finished a creditable 10th for the 5k race across Halton which attracted hundreds of runners.

Alan, of Runcorn, said: “I haven’t run for a while and my times are appalling!

“But my other daughter used to work for Halton Haven and got us involved, we’ve been training since July and we’re looking at doing a 10k run next.

“I’m training twice a week!”
