Russell Watson announces 2011 tour dates in the North West

RUSSELL Watson is back for a 21-date UK tour in the spring of 2011, to coincide with the release of the British tenor’s new album, La Voce.

The album was recorded in June 2010 with the Roma Sinfonietta, Ennio Morricone’s orchestra of choice, and will be released on Russell’s new label Epic Records on November 29.

Returning with a stronger, more driven and powerful voice, his renditions of Pino Donaggio’s Io Che Non Vivo (Senza Te), Mario Lanza’s Arrivederci Roma and Parla Piu Piano (the theme from The Godfather) are stunning.

Watson’s debut album, entitled The Voice, was released in May 2001; four others followed.

In 2007 he survived a major health scare when he underwent emergency surgery to removed a second brain tumour. He has since released two more albums and his autobiography.

The Salford-born singer brings his tour to The Lowry at Salford Quays on March 27, the Liverpool Philharmonic on April 1, Venue Cymru in Llandudno on April 3 and Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on April 4.
