Acts announced for Delamere Forest shows

A LINE-UP of gigs to be held at Delamere Forest has now been completed.

Eighties legends Simple Minds are perhaps the biggest name on the Forestry Commission Live Music bill, taking in the Cheshire forest on July 3.

Classic songs like Alive And Kicking, Don’t You (Forget About Me and Belfast Child established Simple Minds with a global audience.

Frontman Jim Kerr, said: “We’ve never done the forest gigs before so we are really looking forward to performing in such beautiful places.”

Pop pioneers Erasure are to appear on July 1.

Formed 25 years ago, the award-winning duo of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell unleashed a succession of influential pop anthems such as A Little Respect, Who Needs Love (Like That) and Always.

Bell said: “We’re excited to be playing in the woods and really hope it doesn’t rain.”

Finally, indie-rock outfit The Courteeners will perform on July 2.
