SOUTH Cheshire’s finest dance collaboration FUNKagenda are getting ready to welcome the New Year in style.
The DJ quartet of Alex Brown, Niall Parry, Wilks, and Joel Olszewski are back in action at Square One in Crewe on Friday.
They will present another evening of funky house tracks at the Mill Street venue in what is a celebration of the group’s fourth birthday.
Bringing together two different takes on house music to offer clubbers a unique experience, Funkagenda is predominantly based around funky house and incorporates both instruments and percussion to produce a live feel.
A wide variation of underground music aimed towards the big club sound is also included, covering the best music from minimal, techno, house, progressive and electro.
Organiser Alex Brown, who lives in Stapeley, said: “Funkagenda was born from an idea by a group of like-minded music lovers in November 2006.
“We wanted to do something different and create a night that would cater for house music lovers like ourselves.”
FUNKagenda evenings at Square One started out with the support of the growing success with the Terracotta Army, which features FUNKagenda’s Alex.
Their remixes and original productions have received major support from DJs such as Nick Warren, Sasha, Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk, and have been heard several times on TV and Radio including the Champions League final.
The 4th Birthday NYE SPecial opens its doros at 9pm and is expected to run until 2am.
Tickets are £10, available on the door.
