ENDE Nazer was only 12 years old when she was stolen from her Sudanese village and sold as a slave.
For eight years she worked 18-hour days with no payment, no days off and no choice.
Then she was brought to London under false documents – not to escape but to become one of the 5,000 trafficking victims the Home Office estimates are in slavery in the UK today.
The play Slave, tells her story through music, singing and dance, from kidnap to escape and subsequent battle to remain in the country and set up a charity.
Slave runs at the Unity Theatre until Saturday.
