PINK Floyd tribute band Darkside appeared at the Brindley Theatre on Friday night to an almost full house.
This is the second appearance of Darkside at the Brindley having appeared there 12 months ago when it was close to sell out. This time there may have been a few seats spare but that was to the loss of the followers that never managed to turn up.
The first half of the show warmed up the audience with the classic – Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1 and 2) which is the tribute to Syd Barrett – one of the founder members of the band who passed away in tragic circumstances. Other tunes were See Emily Play and the timeless Brick In The Wall.
The second half did not disappoint from beginning to end playing all the classics from the album, with one high point being when Mary Anne Ratcliffe appeared on the stage in place of the unwell Emma Skip who had been admitted to hospital.
Once again another great performance from Darkside and hope they return to Runcorn but be sure to get your tickets early as I am sure it will be a sell out next time.
