Chester and Flintshire band The Reads to play Telford’s Warehouse

CHESTER and Flintshire-based group The Reads will be playing live at Telford’s Warehouse in Chester on Saturday, January 12.

The band’s latest single, Nothing Bound, is now available as a free download via www.thereads.co.uk.

The single features string arrangements by contemporary Manchester composer Joe Duddell, who recently collaborated with Richard Hawley and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for BBC Radio 6 Music.

The Reads worked alongside Joe on five tracks from their debut album: Good Omens, Broken Backs, Nothing Bound, Chunky Truffle and Supersaver Return.

Last year the band was signed by London-based music publisher ASongs, whose other acts include Fatboy Slim and Stereo MCs.

The Reads comprise singer and rhythm guitarist Stuart Bennett, from Hawarden; lead guitarist Jamie Russell and keyboard player Marcel Delrue, from Chester; bass player and lyricist Clare Goddard, from Gronant; her husband Chris, who provides backing vocals, and his brother Matty on drums.
