PLANS for more than 40 homes in Holywell have been delayed.
Proposals for 44 two and three-storey houses on Halkyn Road were recommended for approval at a meeting of Flintshire County Council’s planning committee yesterday.
But the scheme was deferred to allow the developer more time to provide further information on affordable homes.
Holywell Town Council raised concerns about the application because of access difficulties, flooding problems and an inadequate infrastructure within the community.
Welsh Water also objected to the plans and claimed the development would overload the existing sewerage system.
The report was deferred from a meeting in December for the developer to provide further information on affordable housing and drainage issues.
The council asked to include a condition that houses would not be occupied until improvements had been made to the drainage system.
The number of affordable houses on the site was increased from 10 to 13, which will be sold at 75% of the market value.
The council asked for a contribution of £38,500 towards educational provision and improvements at Perth y Terfyn Infants School from the developer.
