GROSVENOR garden centre in Chester has announced the appointment of new head chef Daniel Hughes, of Caergwrle.
Daniel, 31, joins Grosvenor having spent time at both Chester Grosvenor and Spa and Bridge Inn following a return to the North West from London where he trained with leading chef, Bryn Williams.
“To be offered the opportunity of working with a changing, seasonal menu here at the garden centre ensures I can devise recipes using only the finest ingredients – all fresh and sourced locally.
“To be able to build relationships with local farmers and producers is very unusual but, I feel, vital when sourcing the best crops to use in our menu,” said Daniel.
His first task has been to introduce a special menu celebrating British Food Fortnight.
“I strongly believe in Grosvenor’s philosophy of supporting the local community and by developing relationships with suppliers I know I am offering Grosvenor customers the very best, quality ingredients whilst at the same time, supporting the economy,” Daniel added.
