Flintshire cleaning company boss suggests novel way of keeping in shape

A BUSINESSMAN is encouraging people across Cheshire and Flintshire to start 2012 by clearing out their clutter and blitzing their bodies.

Mike Hanrahan, who owns Maid2Clean in Mold and Prestatyn, is suggesting an innovative way to detox both house and body at the same time.

“The most common new year’s resolutions must relate to keeping fit and getting organised, and with a little know-how these two ideas can work really well together.” said Mike.

“For example, did you know that vacuuming for just 30 minutes burns more than 90 calories, the same as going to a kick-boxing class?

“Standing and ironing is a great way to tone your arms and upper body and will burn about 100 calories per hour.”

Studies suggest light housework such as dusting or changing the bedsheets can burn nearly 200 calories an hour, while washing the car or gardening can burn more than 250 calories.

Mike added: “In this day and age people often don’t have time to tend to themselves and their household chores, but by combining the two in a realistic and sustainable way everyone can achieve a cleaner and leaner 2012.

“And – if like me – you would prefer to go to the gym to stay slim, well that is what Maid2Clean is here for.”

Maid2Clean is a national franchise that specialises in delivering domestic cleaning services for low prices.
