Deeside College staff receive Training Quality Standard award

STAFF at Deeside College have been celebrating after being given an award for training excellence.

The college became the first in Wales to achieve the Training Quality Standard in November and has now received a plaque and certificate.

Sue Warnock, business manager at the Beaufort Park Hotel in Mold, which has worked with the college for 16 years, said: “I am not surprised that Deeside College has been awarded the Training Quality Standard, the services that they supply are second to none.

“We believe that employee development is a key factor behind our success and Deeside College has supported us with this every step of the way supplying bespoke courses progression option.”

The college works with more than 1,600 companies to provide training, of which 90% are small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in industries including finance, engineering and manufacturing, food manufacture, healthcare, hairdressing and beauty, retail, construction and catering.

Deeside College principal David Jones said: “I’d like to congratulate all staff at Deeside College involved with providing training to employers.

“This award is testament to their hard work and commitment to ensuring that we deliver high quality and outstanding services.”
