Harmonious festival success

ORGANISERS of music and arts festival Gyl Fama are celebrating another successful year.
Hundreds of people took part in the 10-day event, held at different locations across Flintshire.
The festival opened with a concert by Caerwys and Great Sutton Male Voice Choirs.
The Welsh Learners’ event, held at Caffi Florence, Loggerheads, was a sell-out, and had live music by band Brigyn, with competitions to encourage Welsh Learners to practise and develop language skills.
David Martin, chairman of Gyl Fama, said: “We are delighted that so many young people played such a prominent role in this year’s festival.
“A Young Performers’ Platform provided a stage for some of Flintshire’s most talented young musicians and a Music Café gave primary children an opportunity to perform their music in front of family and friends at Cilcain assisted by their teacher, Carole Johnson.”
More than 1,000 primary school children also took part in Gyl Fama’s Jamboree, attended by S4C children’s presenter Martyn Geraint and held at Ysgol Bryn Coch, Mold and Ysgol Gwenffrwd, Holywell.
