Woman from Pontybodkin scoops Open University Skills Award

A PONTYBODKIN woman is celebrating after receiving a study award.

Sharon Bassett was delighted to find out she had been crowned runner-up of The Open University Skills Award and the winner of a study voucher worth £500.

The presentation was made at the Remote Worker Awards Ceremony at Cliveden House in Berkshire.

The Open University gave Sharon the £500 prize which will now be used to develop her skills.

Sharon entered the awards to take her business to the next level.

She has developed enjoy- a-ball.com, a franchise sports coaching for children.

An Open University professional qualification will provide additional skills to further her business success.

The award appealed to hundreds of eager entrants who want to re-skill for a multitude of reasons from young people starting out to others who have a degree and want to increase their job security to some who have no formal education and have always wanted to study for a dream career.
