Flintshire residents invited to Greenfield Dock celebration day

FLINTSHIRE County Council’s coastal unit is taking a break from installing the All Wales Coastal Path and teaming up with the Friends of Greenfield Dock for a coastal celebration day on Sunday, July 25.

The Friends and coastal rangers are inviting residents to the newly refurbished Greenfield Dock to enjoy a BBQ, face-painting, colouring, crafts and demonstrations.

The RNLI will be putting on rescue demonstrations to say a big thank you to the Friends and to the coastal team for recent works to improve safety and access to the river, along with parking and information signs.

Coastal rangers will be on hand with activities for children and information on the latest developments.

Gerry Hotchkiss, chairman of the Friends of Greenfield Dock, said: “This is a preview opportunity before our big opening. Come down and see the difference, have fun and learn something new.”

The celebration will run from 10am-2pm. All are welcome to attend the event, which is supported by Holywell’s Communities First.

The date for the official opening of the dock has yet to be announced.
