Broughton Airbus employees raise money for Wales Air Ambulance

AIRBUS employees and contractors and their friends raised more than £10,000 for Wales Air Ambulance with a white-water rafting event.

Seven members in each team paddled down the rapids of the Tryweryn River, in Bala, in a record number of 28 rafts.

The teams, all from the Broughton site, enjoyed three runs down the torrents at the National White Water Centre before the final timed run, which determined the winner.

Addeel Asghar, plant project management officer, said: “I had an amazing time at the white-water rafting event.

“It was an exhilarating and challenging experience and I couldn’t have asked for more.”

The charity challenge team at Airbus in Broughton has raised £105,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance and other charities since 2009.
