Capricorn Animal Rescue, Mold, on the lookout for canine blood donors

A MOLD animal rescue centre is on the lookout for canine blood donors.

Capricorn Animal Rescue is trying to set up a dog blood donor register in the area after receiving requests from veterinary hospitals for large, heavy dogs to act as donors.

The centre needs dogs such as Labradors, Rottweilers and Dalmatians.

A spokeswoman for the charity said: “We might only get one call a year for a canine blood donor, but it would be extremely reassuring if we had some contacts to call upon in case we did not have a suitable donor in the sanctuary.

“The donors suffer no after-effects and are in and out of the vets within a day.”

If anyone would like to have their dog on the list, call 01244 547938.
