Woman suffers serious injuries in crash at Broughton Shopping Park

A PENSIONER suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car at Broughton Shopping Park.

The woman, believed to be in her 70s, was knocked down by a Vauxhall Astra outside the Tesco store at about 2.40pm on Sunday.

She was taken by ambulance to the Countess of Chester Hospital with serious injuries to her head and leg.

Shopping park manager Colin Gilligan said: “The scene of the accident and any access roads to that area were all controlled to facilitate the emergency services following the accident.”

A police investigation is ongoing.
