Chester bank staff spread Christmas cheer to Flintshire charity Save the Family

STAFF at Lloyds Banking Group have been spreading Christmas cheer by donating hundreds of cuddly toys and children’s gifts to homeless charity Save the Family, based in Northop Hall.

More than 200 presents were handed over by staff of the Chester bank.

The gifts will be distributed to children at the charity’s accommodation centre at Plas Bellin Hall and to families living in outreach homes in Cheshire and North Wales.

Vikki Cunliffe, a senior manager at the group, organised the toy appeal collection with colleague Sarah Wollaston.

She said: “All the staff were only too pleased to help with such a worthy cause as Save the Family.

“If the toys can bring some happiness to those in need then the appeal has been worthwhile.”

Save the Family helps families facing homelessness stay together as one unit.

It provides temporary accommodation and support to help families get back on their feet and back into the community.

Angella Rawsthorne, Save the Family’s fundraising officer, said: “The gifts from Lloyds’ staff will help make this a truly special Christmas for our children. We can’t thank them enough.”
