Saltney slimmer inspiring others to beat the bulge

A MOTHER who joined a weight loss group is now trying to help others beat the bulge.

Caireen Candlin was so pleased with her new figure that she has become a consultant for her local group in Saltney.

The mother-of-three started dieting when she worked as a teacher in Spain.

The 39-year-old moved back to Saltney in March after spending 10 years teaching drama and English to Spanish schoolchildren.

And after recommendations from her friends and family she joined her local Slimming World group and followed their eating plan.

Caireen – mum to Daniel, 17; Matthew, 14, and two-year-old Daisy – lost two stone in nine months – and she is still losing weight.

She hopes to lose another two stone in the new year.

Caireen said: “I struggled to lose weight while in Spain, and after having Daisy.

“It was a combination of eating too much tapas and post-pregnancy weight.

“I struggled with my self confidence, feeling fat, worthless and like a failure after trying many different diets without any luck.”

Caireen, who moved back to Chester in March, said the secret of her slimming is a sensible and healthy diet, and doing regular gentle exercise.

The Saltney branch of Slimming World will meet next at St Marks Centre on Wednesday, January 12, at 6.30pm.
