Tributes paid after sudden death of Flintshire Airbus worker

A HEARTBROKEN family have paid tribute to a ‘perfect’ father-of-four after his death three days before Christmas.

Airbus worker Lee Grayson died suddenly after collapsing while walking his dog at about 6.45pm on December 22.

The exact cause of the 42-year-old’s death is unclear and the family are awaiting further biopsy results, but Cheshire Coroner’s Office said there would be no inquest into the death as it was due to natural causes.

Mr Grayson, who had worked at the Broughton plant more than 20 years, lived in Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port, with wife Heidi, 42, and their four children – Adam, 16, Aaron, 13, Olivia, 10, and Grace, nine.

Mr Grayson was a big sports fan and keen Liverpool FC supporter.

In a tribute to her husband, Mrs Grayson said: “I don’t know where to start Lee. I can’t believe you have gone. You have given me 24 amazing years and our children 16 years of being a fantastic dad.

“We adore you. I don’t know what we are going to do without you. You have left the biggest hole in our lives ever and we miss you so much.

“Sleep tight darling, my best friend, wonderful husband and perfect father. My hero.”

Mr Grayson’s mum Brenda and dad Tom said: “Words cannot express how we feel about you Lee.

“It breaks our hearts to know that you’re not with us anymore. We will always treasure the times we had together.”

A spokeswoman for Airbus said: “Our thoughts go out to Lee’s family and friends at this terribly sad time. He will be missed by all his colleagues and friends at Airbus.”

Mr Grayson’s funeral will take place at St Paul’s Church, Hooton, at midday on Tuesday.
