Man found not guilty of causing death of Hawarden couple

THE man accused of causing the deaths of elderly Hawarden couple Emlyn and Dorothy Coulson by dangerous driving, has been found not guilty.

Martin Dyer, 53, from Scotland, was charged with causing the deaths after crashing into the couple’s car on the M6 near Warrington, on April 7 2009.

The couple had first collided with a Mitsubishi Space when their car was spun around, leaving it facing the wrong way down the motorway.

Mr Dyer’s black BMW then crashed head first into the couple, killing them both.

The prosecution accused him of not paying attention to the road and not slowing down at the scene of a crash.

The jury at Warrington Crown Court however found him not guilty after a two hour deliberation.
