THE skills of Deeside College catering and hospitality students were judged by the region’s top law enforcers at Mold Crown Court when they provided a catering service for the 2011 Crimebeat Awards evening.
The Level 1 and 2 Diploma students worked as professionals, preparing and serving canapés and drinks for high profile guests attending the event.Š
The Deeside College catering department were approached by event organiser, Lady Janet Jones, the High Sheriff of Clwyd, after providing impressive services for other functions.
Lecturer Angharad Jarvis said: “This has been a brilliant experience for our students, allowing them to see first hand the standards required for such events.Š
“We aim to provide our students with experience in as many different ‘real’ settings as possible.Š
“All of the students involved worked extremely hard and to an exceptionally professional standard, proving to be a credit to the college.”
Lady Jones said: “The Deeside College team provided excellent refreshments for the Crimebeat Awards evening.Š Everyone was impressed with the students and the efficient way they handled the food and drink.”
