TWO men had to be rescued from the River Dee after the current proved too strong for their dinghy.
Flint RNLI crew, the Dee Response Coastguard team and North Wales Police were called at about 1.30pm today (Monday) after a report of a small dinghy with two men on board being carried by the current underneath Hawarden railway bridge.
Four young men had managed to make their way to safety to the shoreline and two others had abandoned their dinghy and climbed part of an old wooden jetty where they waited to be rescued.
ŠThe lifeboat took the men, who were both unharmed, to shore at Connah’s Quay.
