A DEESIDE man has been remanded in custody following a stabbing incident in Shotton.
Defendant Owen Sidney Wesley, 22, is charged with wounding his former girlfriend’s new boyfriend with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
At a special weekend sitting of Flintshire magistrates' court at Mold on Saturday, Wesley of Butler Street, Shotton, was sent to appear at a preliminary hearing at Mold Crown Court next Friday.
Wesley is charged with maliciously wounding James Bolton with intent to cause him GBH, assaulting his former girlfriend Louise Gurnell, and possessing a black handled knife in North Street, Shotton, on Friday morning.
Prosecutor Huw Evans told the court Mr Bolton had suffered stab wounds to the abdomen and arm and had a one foot long, one centimetre deep, slash down one leg.
He was currently in hospital awaiting surgery.
Gary Harvey, defending, did not apply for bail.
