Students get stuck in to sprouts at Hawarden Estate Farm Shop

A GROUP of students from Hawarden High School got to enjoy the taste of Christmas this week.

The youngsters visited Hawarden Estate Farm Shop where the sprout and winter vegetable harvest is well under way in preparation for the festive season.

After a walk through the fields to look at the crops, the pupils got to try a creamed sprout recipe created by the farm shop’s Claire Jones.

Eleven-year-old Sophie Edwards, of Hawarden, said: “I didn’t like sprouts before but will definitely eat them again – this is yummy!”
